BurnInTest™ tests the CPU, RAM, disk drives, optical drives, sound cards, 2D graphics, 3D graphics, video playback, network connections and printers. This can all be done simultaneously and can be custom scripted for automated testing.

Version 6 New Major Features

One of the new tests in version 6 is the Raw Disk Test, which enables quick testing of unformatted hard disks for defects (without additional preparation). Also new is the Maximum CPU Temperature test, allowing users better assessment of whether CPU temperatures will affect the stability of machines - these features will be great interest to those who test newer machines. Did we mention new test facilities for newer hardware? BurnInTest now includes support for Blu-Ray (with a new Blu-Ray Read Test) and DVD burning (Vista and later), as well as support for Windows Server 2008 and Intel Core i7 CPUs. Existing tests have been upgraded for comprehensiveness, load and speed - most notably the CPU test which now includes a much wider range of CPU instructions which will allow users to more thoroughly test their CPUs.

The new version of BurnInTest also gives users access to an unprecedented amount of information about their system. Next to the manufacturer CPU logos, users can now find detailed data about your CPU's internal codename, family, model, revision, socket type, fabrication, features and much more. Multiple graphics cards and multiple monitor information are two other new additions to the display, showing information about chip type, amount of video memory, BIOS information and device driver versions. PassMark has also added a number of new clipboard options, making displayed system data much easier for users to export and use.

Those who use BurnInTest regularly will appreciate the addition of Quick Tests, which is a series of pre-defined tests. With Quick Tests, users can execute tests in two clicks from the main window! And to further streamline your stress-testing experience, hot keys and context-sensitive menus have been added for quick access to common tasks.
